The Story of Dorty’s
The name “Dorty” is a tribute to the legacy of Dorothy Clausen, a woman whose heart for hospitality touched generations of family, friends, and visitors. Our Grandma Dorty was the true embodiment of our town Arthur’s motto, “You’re a Stranger Only Once.” For decades, the Clausen and Green families have believed that the best moments in life happen around a shared table with a home-cooked meal and great conversation. We opened Dorty’s to extend that same sense of warmth and belonging to visitors traveling through East Central Illinois. Whether you are here for a weekend getaway or a longer stay, we want you to feel like part of the family from the moment you step through the door.
